The Secret World of Arrietty (2010)

This movie is something worth watching if you are bored and just want to watch an good animation with awesome scenery design since adults won't get much out of it.

Personally I feel a little sad for Sho since he is always nice to Arrietty but she gotta leave at the end. It gives me a thought about friendship and how we have to say goodbye even we don’t want to in reality, especially when we have grow up and become adults. We always have our own path to go no matter how special this relationship mean to us.

The whole concept of how small people live within us without us noticing is just unique, it makes you have the desire to wander the world just like them and become the “borrowers”.

As someone who worked in design field that depends on 3D graphic and CG, I have to admit the hand made drawing of this movie is unbeatable. It is like a dream that lasted for 96 mins, inside the dream, you have became a part of the nature where one piece of white sugar can feed you and your whole family for a whole month, Where the leave of a tree can become a shelter when it is a rainy day, and the ants have become an dangerous enemy.

It is just a beautifully crafted, intimate adventure movie.
